How to start building an EB-1A profile as a junior software engineer

Here’s a post by immigration lawyer Amber Davis on how you can start building an EB-1A profile as a junior software engineer:

If you’re a junior software engineer who is serious about EB-1A, here are a few pathways to consider:

- Build a path to becoming a top executive or professional at a well known or even mid-sized company.
- Become a pioneer or leader in your field through open source contributions.
- Lead innovative and groundbreaking projects at your current company.

Any of the above can make for a strong foundation to an EB-1A case.

In the meantime, you can build up evidence to meet the other criteria as well, such as judge role, authorship, memberships, etc.

It might take you at least a few years to build a case (some people even work 10 years at this), but there are viable paths that don’t involve winning a Nobel Prize.
