Work towards the EB-1A membership criterion
Yes, even if you do not plan on claiming the membership criterion.
I speak to a lot of profile-builders and something that comes up a lot?
Thinking in terms of individual opportunities instead of meeting people who could become sources of opportunities.
Instead of focusing on publicly visible activities, focus instead on meeting people who could potentially refer you to opportunities because of your expertise.
Conference organizers, committee members, local chapter leaders of top professional organizations.
These are the kinds of people you want to meeting to see how you can help them through your expertise.
Perhaps you have:
Specific expertise that could help with peer reviewing submissions for a conference.
Experiences that attendees of an upcoming panel discussion involving other top professionals in your field would want to hear about.
Done work and as a result developed expertise that could help a group of researchers on a paper they are looking to publish in a top journal.
So to find more opportunities, don't just focusing on applying to publicly visible opportunities.
Focus on starting conversations with people who may not only know about upcoming opportunities in your field but could also be the ones who are working on and creating them.
