Can you apply for EB-1A as a recent graduate from a master’s degree program?
Here’s a post by immigration lawyer Amber Davis on whether you can apply for EB-1A as a recent graduate from a master’s degree program:
Having a bunch of publications and a master’s degree is most likely not going to be enough for EB-1A.
That is, unless you’ve been published and substantially cited in some of the top journals in your field (through which you can show proof of extraordinary ability, the authorship criterion, and claim original contributions as your anchor criterion), but even then you’ll still need several months or even a year to work towards achieving 1-2 of the other criteria.
For a lot of you out there who did a lot of research in your master’s program and have recently graduated, expect to profile-build for at least three years if not longer if you intend to apply for EB-1A (if you’re Rest of World, you should look into EB-2 NIW and probably won’t need the EB-1A).
