Showing that you meet the EB-1A extraordinary ability standard

Here’s a post by immigration lawyer Amber Davis on showing that you meet the EB-1A extraordinary ability standard:

To meet the EB-1A extraordinary ability standard, you will need something that shows that you are at the top of your field.

This could be:

  • A leadership position that’s highly sought after at one of the top companies in your field.

  • An original research contribution that shows that you’ve been able to impact your field as a whole.

  • A project that you played a major role in that has helped shape your field.

Something about your profile needs to show incontrovertible evidence that you are at the top of your field.

Without this piece to your profile, even if you have done a bunch of activities in your field (judging competitions, writing scholarly articles, etc.), a USCIS officer who reviews your case will most likely deny it on final merits.
