Why some weak O-1s are getting approved

Post (source):

Been getting a lot of “weak” O-1s approved, mostly from smaller companies.

All thanks to Policy Manual updates, which have diluted the importance of prestige factors.

Once three criteria are checked off, things tend to move swiftly to a final merits determination.

I’ve also been making national interest arguments in the O-1s I’ve filed, which anecdotally have helped a lot.

Part of the reason why I keep telling everyone that 2024 will be the year of the NIW - because USCIS favors immigrants who can contribute to areas of national interest. This is influencing other visa categories too.
