Applying for EB-2 NIW from abroad and showing existing ties to the U.S.

Here’s a post by immigration lawyer Amber Davis on applying for EB-2 NIW from abroad:

If you’re applying for EB-2 NIW from abroad, you might want to show existing ties to the U.S.

Perhaps there’s a company you want to work for that’s related to the field in which you’re currently working, and that company has expressed an interest in hiring you.

Perhaps there’s some research that you’d like to do that’s popular in the U.S. and an organization has expressed an interest in having you contribute to that research.

To prove these ties, you also want to have specific individuals attest to your ability to carry out your proposed endeavor.

These could be people you’ll be working with should your application be approved as well as industry experts who based on their experience can state that you do have a profile and qualifications to carry out your proposed endeavor.
